Heat-Rated Recirculation Fans

Fan Products for Circulating Air and Heat

PestPro Thermal is proud to announce we are now offering the absolute best external bed bug heating fans available.

External fans that circulate the hot air from your bed bug heaters are a critical component of a successful bed bug remediation strategy.

Without creating a convection effect in the treatment area the bed bugs will be able to detect the heat source and run the other direction to surviving another day.

After suffering through the shortcomings from a few different fan vendors over the years PestPro Thermal has found the most reliable manufacturer, based in California that makes the best high volume, high heat fans available today. They are the perfect match for our industrial-grade electric bed bug heaters.

Some of the reasons these fans are superior are they move much more air than competitive fans that are larger and heavier. They are so much better than what we used to include in our bed bug heater packages that you only require one fan versus two fans to move enough air to create the aforementioned convection effect required for a successful bed bug heat treatment.

Another feature that gives the operator added flexibility to kill bed bugs quickly is the fan’s 360-degree swivel capability. By being able to aim the bed bug fan in any direction including straight up and down you can customize the hot air flow ensuring an even temperature profile is maintained in the treatment area. This is important in order to avoid the creation of ‘cold spots’ where bed bugs can hide and survive.

For those moving amongst multiple properties from day to day the stack ability of the fans is a true back saver. The fans can be stacked up to 5 fans high and moved on a dolly versus having to carry each one individually. The ergonomic advantage of being able to transport the fans this way is revealed in lower workers comp claims due to reduced lower back injuries as well as faster set-up and tear-down times.

One of the really helpful add-ons that these bed bug heating fans have that competitive fans do not is an attachable, extendable duct. This duct allows you to direct the hot air into hard to reach cavities like crawl spaces and above false ceilings.

There are differing views on if using external air moving fans is an absolute requirement for successful bed bug heat remediation. The short answer is that it is not. Still, if you want to have the most flexibility and be able to quickly and efficiently work around any challenging layout or ‘hoarder’ situation you should definitely choose to use external bed bug heater fans which provide more control over your heat remediation jobs.

I already have carpet drying fans. Why do I need external bed bug heat treatment fans?

When we speak to those unfamiliar with using heaters and fans to kill bed bugs many people want to know why they cannot use the carpet drying fans they have already invested in. At lower temperatures (125°-135°F) you may be able to use these fans for a while before they fail permanently. Their electronic components and motors are not ‘heat-rated’ for the higher temperatures that effective bed bug heat treatments require. At the even higher temperatures required for decontamination of germs and viruses (158°F) non-heat rated fans will fail very quickly. Additionally, the focused stream of air that comes out of carpet drying fans, like blowing air through a straw, is not as effective as the broader air movement achieved with our bed bug heating fans.

Also our fans have ‘daisy chain’ plug in flexibility so you can either plug each fan into its own wall receptacle or if that is not an option plugging the fans into each other given their very low amperage draw.
